My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cookie Monster & Big Bird were feral kittens who went from hissing to kissing after switching from feral street life to indoor life with never ending food, toys, warm bed and lots of pets and love. A compassionate biker found them living on the streets with their littermates and contacted CAWS. Cookie Monster, the most socialized, started purring upon arrival at his foster home and has not stopped. Big Bird followed suit and loves the cozy indoor life with humans. Big Bird and Cookie Monster are purr machines who have a lot of love to give. They both get along great with the other kitties at their foster home. These brothers are both very nurturing towards the younger kittens and respectful towards the adult cats. They love having their silky black fur brushed, making biscuits on soft blankets, feather wands, and the kitty tower next to the windows. A calm home would be ideal for this inseparable duo and someone to help make them feel safe and truly loved for who they are. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
