My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper will be 2 years old in December. He LOVES other dogs and won’t be happy unless he has a sister or brother to play with. Piper has been through a lot in his short life including enduring the loss of one of his owners (my husband) followed by an influx of live-in relatives and extra dogs. Somehow Piper became very protective of me beyond all reason and I cannot live with him. When I am gone he is normal, has nothing to protect and is happy with the other people and another dog who live here. As soon as I come back he is in protector mode again. I can be gone an hour or many days and it is always the same. He has been through a basic obedience course and can sit/stay. He is quite smart. I have discussed his problem with my veterinarian and trainers and the consensus is that I am somehow his problem, and he will be fine when he gets away from me. Piper needs a large-ish fenced yard or acreage. He has lots of energy and is used to being around people and dogs all the time.
