Meet Mickey , a 9-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart full of love. Despite his blindness and deafness, Mickey navigates life with a goofy grin and a mellow attitude. His gentle nature makes him the perfect companion. He may not see or hear you, but he feels your presence, your touch, your kindness. And he will find you if you have food!

Mickey is a testament to resilience, showing us that joy can be found even in the face of challenges. His happy demeanor and gentle spirit make him an exceptional friend. Mickey does well with other low energy dogs, cats, and even made friends with the bunny in his foster home. He's potty trained and loves going for walks. He's also a big fan of toys and enjoys playing just as much as enjoys snuggling up in a comfy bed.

Due to glaucoma, Mickey had surgery to remove both his eyes. Once he's healed up, he'll feel much better without the pain and pressure. Blind dogs do very well and it’s easy to forget they can’t see because they navigate around the home so well. To keep him happy and healthy Mickey needs allergy meds that cost about $45 a month.

Mickey is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $250.00.

Step 3: IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet.

Additional adoption info

Applicants must be at least 24 years of age. Completion and submission of an application does not
guarantee approval to adopt. All applications will be considered and applicants will be approved based
on best fit for the adoptable animal, regardless of order in which they are received. Applicant agrees to
references being checked and a home visit being conducted prior to the finalization of an adoption.

More about this rescue

PawPrints Animal Rescue was founded in 2015 in the Northern Kentucky area by a group of five dedicated people with a passion for animals. Our goal is to save as many lives as we can by saving all breeds of dog and cats that are at risk of euthanasia in area shelters. With the help of an amazing group of volunteers, all animals are fostered in loving homes until they are adopted.

Our typical fees are below and we may have special fees for certain pets.
