My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Mustard. I'm young and a bit of a wallflower. My world revolves around the simple pleasures of life. I love chasing after little red dots, the crinkle of a paper ball, and the thrill of a good hiding spot. I'm independent, so I don't mind spending time alone. But, I also enjoy a gentle stroke on my back when I'm in the mood. I might be shy at first, but give me some time, and I'll warm up to you. My quiet and independent nature makes me the perfect companion for someone who appreciates the subtle nuances of a cat's personality. Adopt me, and let's explore life's simple pleasures together..

If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

Go meet their pets

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.

You can select an appointment time using this link: https://koalendar.com/e/meet-and-greet-appointment.
