Aussie/Kelpie mix
Fast facts:
House trained
Crate trained
Toy lover
Dog friendly
Smart cookie
Professional crate decorator
This bouncy guy really shows off the heartwarming resilience of dogs we see coming from the South! Ringo was found roaming the streets of Texas skinny and covered in fleas and ticks, but he proved himself to be a survivor. And now that he got his freedom ride north, he’s proven to be even more!
This petite guy is the perfect size for snuggles and adventures alike, which are two of his favorite things! He might take some time to give you his full trust, but given his past, it’s hard to blame him. He still is very interested in being near you and would love to get some pets or rest near your feet. But if you want to go on a walk or hike or car ride, he is down for any adventure !
Ringo appears to be completely housetrained (hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home!) and is crate trained. He loves his crate and he will go in there on his own as it is his preferred safe spot to rest. He will bring his toys, blankets, and all comfort items into his crate. He has even tried to pull his whole bed into there ! When he is closed in his crate and left alone, he will protest a little but is very quick to settle, especially when there is a tasty kong in there. He also sleeps through the night with no problem at all in his crate.
Since he is still a puppy, he is still learning not to use his mouth to get attention, but he is doing very well with redirection to his toys. Speaking of which, he LOVES his toys! He loves to play with them but hasn’t shown any destructive tendencies with them. He is great at keeping himself occupied with his toys when his humans are busy. Ringo can also be a bit of a towel, clothing, or shoe thief when they are left within his reach. But he seems to just want to bring them into his crate to snuggle and has not chewed up any items. His foster family are so impressed with how quickly he is learning! He is a very smart guy and would love to keep learning new commands or tricks in his forever home.
Ringo is very dog friendly and fell in love with his foster fur brother at first sight! Ringo plays really well with him and will spend hours chasing and wrestling together. He even shares toys and a water bowl with his foster brother. Ringo’s history with kids and cats is unknown at this time.
Ringo’s foster family is so impressed with his happy-go-lucky nature given all he has been through and are amazed at the love he has to give. He will thrive in a home that continues to exercise his smarts and allows him time to realize he is truly safe and home for good!
If you are interested in Ringo, please apply at the adoption link in the comments below or message the rescue if you are already pre-approved.
