My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Maggie was brought in by her previous owner.

At SDHS:
Maggie has been vaccinated, microchipped spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

Why Maggie might be the one for you:
Oh Maggie, just like the song, you are the one. Maggie is bit on the chonky side. She is big in size and she is big in love. She will push her head into your hand for more pets. She will rub against you for attention and she purrs up a storm to express her love. She will take up your whole lap and love you for it. Maggie is simply one big, friendly cat who will make herself at home in your home. She will greet friends and strangers alike. Shy is not part of Maggie's demeanor. Yes, she also has some age on her but that is not stopping Maggie from loving life and her humans. Do you have a cozy home to share with this lover cat? And, If there is a diet in her future, don't tell her!! Come and visit Maggie at our shelter. You can even sing Oh Maggie to her. She will like that.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
