We must have an application to move forward.
In foster in Tumwater, WA ! He is a very VERY affectionate dog. He loves to play with dogs and adores affection from his humans! He’s been in rescue for TWO YEARS! We haven’t had him meet a dog he did not like. Yes some dogs he just says hello and that’s it but most of them he loves to play with.
Please apply now! You can always email us with any questions, give us your number and good times to call if you wish.
SCOOBY is a big boy...likely approx. 75#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 5 yrs old.? But he acts 3 or 4 we think so we don’t know?
He is a such a major lover and super wonderful dog. His ears and the way he is makes us think he's got to be part hound! He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but likely too exuberant with small dogs. However, some dogs he just says hello and ignores?
He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog or great as an only dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He is doing well in the house in foster in Tumwater and loves to be near his humans. He loves squishy squeaky toys, elk horns and other toys. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he gets rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. We do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He seems to have a prey drive (his foster has rabbits and deer that visit) and he doesn’t seem to be a dog that would ‘leave those alone’.
Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller children would possibly get knocked down during playtime? We have had him in rescue for two years, he just came up from TX and we have NEVER seen any aggression whatsoever.(well if he were loose with a rabbit or deer we cannot say we would trust him to ‘leave them alone’. He does get very excited when he FIRST meets a new person or dog, so please take that into account!

We have adoption events on Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Olympia/Lacey WA on Martin Way/Sleater Kinney. Those events are not a set weekend of the month
At The Pet Works, we set up the dogs in the groomers station. At Tractor Supply it is in the back west side of the store (you can ask at the front when you enter!)
Please do apply and you can visit the dog with the foster so you still get to meet/adopt even if you can't make it to an event.
We have a few volunteers and also some dogs aren't fostered in Olympia, WA. They could be in foster in Seattle, WA. Hence, not all of our dogs/pups will be at every event. So please apply:
We foster puppies and dogs. Meets are after we approve the application and then you can adopt. Puppies/dogs are either in foster in West WA or available to pre-adopt directly from Texas. Next adoption event is ...

More about this rescue
We used to call ourselves Shayne's Rescue as we used to rescue dogs. Now, we are Shayne's Fosters as we foster TX rescue pups & dogs.. We assist several TX rescuers where shelters kill 80-99% of what comes in besides the millions and millions of strays on the streets. Hence, we foster for TX rescues who do impeccable jobs of vetting, quarantine all of their pups/dogs and send up the best dogs we have ever met. All have a health certificate prior to transport (vet visit). We work super hard volunteering and we can always use more assistance from volunteers!
Please do apply. We have so many dogs and puppies available.
This application we always see, for our long term partner Pet Central SATX Rescue.
