My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on November 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Lunar - Your Loyal Pyrenees Partner! Lunar is a beautiful Great Pyrenees who's ready to make a BIG impact on your life. This gentle gal may be a bit on the smaller side for her breed, but she'll still command attention with her stunning looks and loyal heart. Previously, Lunar was crate-trained and lived outdoors, so she enjoys open spaces and fresh air. She warms up to new people at her own pace, and once she's comfortable, she loves car rides and time with her people. While she isn't a fan of other dogs, she generally does well with small animals. As a true working dog, Lunar will thrive with a family familiar with her breed who can give her the structure and "job" she craves. Her thick, beautiful coat will need regular brushing to keep her looking her best. Ready to welcome Lunar's loyal spirit into your life? Bring a leash, collar, and plenty of love, and let her become part of your family today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
