My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buster: Your Friendly, Fun-Loving Cairn Terrier

Buster is an adorable, 2.5-year-old Cairn Terrier with a heart full of love and an energy level to match! With his soft, wiry coat and perky ears, this little guy is a bundle of joy who’s as sociable as they come. Whether he’s playing with other dogs, hanging out with the family cat, or interacting with kids, Buster is always ready for some fun and affection.

Temperament:
Buster is a well-mannered and affectionate boy, with a gentle disposition that makes him a great fit for any household. He has a natural friendliness and is equally comfortable around both people and animals. He’s playful with other dogs and enjoys making new friends, and he’s incredibly good with kids. His calm demeanor also makes him a great companion for households with both cats and other pets—he’s a true social butterfly!

Playful and Active:
As a terrier, Buster is full of energy and enthusiasm, and he thrives on regular exercise and mental stimulation. He loves his daily walks, where he’s always excited to explore and sniff around. This little guy will happily walk for miles if you’re up for it! He’s also very playful, whether it’s chasing a ball in the backyard, running around with his doggy pals, or enjoying a game of tug-of-war with the kids. Despite his playful nature, Buster knows when it’s time to settle down and cuddle up with his favorite human.

Affectionate and Cuddly:
Buster is a true lover at heart. He adores cuddles and will gladly snuggle up next to you, often showering you with sweet kisses. His affectionate nature makes him a perfect companion for anyone who loves having a lap dog around for quiet moments. When he’s not playing, you’ll find him curled up next to you, happy to receive all the belly rubs and ear scratches he can get!

Well-Mannered and Easygoing:
Buster has great house manners—he goes into his crate without a fuss and settles in quietly, making him easy to manage when you need to leave the house or during bedtime. His calm and respectful demeanor around people and pets is a testament to his good upbringing. He’s generally well-behaved in the home but does have that playful, curious terrier streak that will need to be kept in check with regular mental stimulation and enrichment.

Grooming Needs:
With his wiry coat, Buster will require regular grooming to keep him looking his best. A professional groom every 2-3 months will help maintain his coat and prevent it from getting too unruly, but with regular brushing in between, he’ll stay looking neat and tidy. His grooming sessions are also a good opportunity to bond and make sure he’s comfortable with being handled.

In Summary:
Buster is the perfect combination of a playful, social terrier and a cuddly, affectionate companion. His sweet nature, love for walks and play, and easygoing temperament around kids, cats, and other dogs make him an ideal addition to any family. If you’re looking for a friendly, active dog who will bring plenty of joy and love into your life, Buster could be your new best friend!

More about this rescue

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
