My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHARLIE****CONTACT KAT katkylabrescue@gmail.com CHARLIE****"THE TOTAL PUP--FUN--LOVING--BEYOND GORGEOUS!!!" CHARLIE IS A 4 YR. OLD GOLDEN DOODLE. DON'T PLAN ON KEEPING YOUR HEART WHEN YOU MEET CHARLIE BECAUSE WITHIN MINUTES HE WILL STEAL IT!! IF YOU PUT TOGETHER A "WISH LIST" OF EVERY TRAIT YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR IN A PUP CHANCES ARE IT WOULD BE CHARLIE. FIRST OF ALL HE IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. HIS COAT IS "CUDDLE" SOFT, SO SOFT IT FEELS LIKE VELVET, A COMBINATION OF STRIKING COLORS, SILVER, WHITE, ACCENTED WITH CHOCOLATE PATCHES, HE’S ONE BEAUTIFULLY MARKED FELLOW, IT LOOKS LIKE AN ARTIST HAND PAINTED THIS GORGEOUS FELLOW. THIS SWEET PUP COMES WITH A BUILT IN GUARANTEE. WE GUARANTEE YOU WILL SMILE THE MINUTE YOU SEE HIM AND WORDS LIKE "OH, HE'S SO GORGEOUS" WILL COME GUSHING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. CHARLIE ALSO HAS SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EYES THEY ARE "HUGE" A DARK CHESTNUT COLOR THEY TRULY SPARKLE LIKE A MILLION STARS WHEN CHARLIE SEE YOU!!! CHARLIE GIVES TRUE MEANING TO THE WORD "COMPANION", HE IS AN AFFECTIONATE, DEVOTED AND EXTREMELY LOVING LITTLE GUY. HE HAS A GENTLE DISPOSITION, SWEET, EXTREMELY LOVING, PLAYFUL A COMPLETE JOY TO BE AROUND. CHARLIE'S TRUE HAPPINESS IS BEING WITH HIS FAMILY. CHARLIE ALSO ADORES THE COMPANY OF OTHER DOGS, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SIZE HIS ONLY REQUEST IS THAT THEY WILL PLAY WITH HIM!!! (HE'S EVEN FINE WITH CATS) IN FACT CHARLIE SPENDS HIS DAYS PLAYING WITH SEVERAL OF OUR RESCUE DOGS TO WATCH CHARLIE WIGGLE, TUMBLE, CHASE HIS TOYS WITH HIS BEST PLAY BUDDY WILL BRING A HUGE SMILE TO YOUR FACE. CHARLIE TRULY IS THE ULTIMATE COMPANION, WHATEVER YOU DAY CALLS FOR JUST MAKE THIS HAPPY FELLOW A PART OF IT, CHARLIE WOULD ADORE AN EARLY MORNING TRIP TO THE DOGGIE PARK, JUST A CHANCE FOR HIM TO MEET A NEW PLAY BUDDY, A CAR RIDE TO RUN ERRANDS AROUND TOWN JUST OPEN THE CAR IN CHARLIE WILL HOP, HE WILL FIND HIS SEAT, TURN THAT ADORABLE HEAD TO ONE SIDE AND GIVE YOU HIS "COME ON LET'S GO" LOOK. CHARLIE DOESN'T ALWAYS KNOW WHERE HE'S GOING AND IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER TO HIM, HIS TRUE HAPPINESS IS JUST BEING WITH YOU. THERE IS ANOTHER PART TO THIS PUP'S PACKAGE AND IT IS APPARENT AFTER SPENDING JUST A SHORT TIME WITH CHARLIE, TRUE TO THE "DOODLE" BREEDS THIS PUP IS SOOOO SMART!!! HE IS A VERY ALERT FELLOW ALWAYS AWEAR OF HIS SURROUNDINGS, SHOW CHARLIE SOMETHING NEW AND HE WANTS TO KNOW WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT DOES. HE IS A PUP THAT IS EAGER TO LEARN, LEARNS EXTREMELY FAST BUT MOST IMPORTANT DELIGHTS IN PLEASING WHICH MAKES TRAINING A BREEZE. THE SKY'S THE LIMIT WITH THIS EXCEPTIONAL GUY. AT DAY'S END WHEN YOU AND CHARLIE HAVE SPENT THE DAY RUNNING ERRANDS, PLAYED WITH HIS FAVORITE TOY, WHEN CHARLIE COMES INSIDE HIS HOME HE CONTINUES TO SHINE. HE WILL CURL UP IN A BALL AS CLOSE TO YOU AS HE CAN GET AND NAP, CONTENT JUST BEING WITH HIS FAMILY. HIS EASY AND LOVING NATURE MAKES HIM JUST A JOY TO BE AROUND. WHEN IT'S TIME FOR BED HE WILL SNUGGLE IN HIS SOFT, FLUFFY BED JUST AS LONG AS IT'S AS CLOSE TO YOUR BED AS HE CAN GET!! CHARLIE ONLY HAS ONE WISH AND THOSE "LOVE ME" EYES TOLD US THIS THE FIRST TIME WE SAW HIM, HE WANTS "TO BELONG." HE WANTS TO BE A PART OF A FAMILY WHO WILL SEE WHAT A TREASURE HE IS AND LOVE HIM. WE FEEL THAT HE WOULD BE A GREAT COMPANION FOR A COUPLE, SINGLE GUY OR GIRL OR A FAMILY WITH GENTLE CHILDREN WHO WOULD SPEND TIME PATTING, PLAYING WITH AND LOVING CHARLIE. CHARLIE IS A DEVOTED FELLOW ONE WHO IS THERE FOR YOU 100%. HE IS A PUP WHO IS LOVING, DEEPLY TRUSTING AND LOVES WITH EVERY FIBER OF HIS BEING. HE ONLY ASK FOR A SOFT PLACE TO LAY HIS HEAD AND WHEN HE CURLS UP AT NIGHT HE JUST WANTS TO HEAR "CHARLIE WE LOVE YOU" SPOKEN TO HIM AND HE WILL BLINK THOSE BIG BEAUTIFUL EYES, WAG HIS TAIL AND WE KNOW THIS IS HIS WAY OF SAYING "I LOVE YOU TOO" THIS FELLOW WITH THE "BIG" HEART AND SPIRIT IS A DREAM!!!! Additional adoption info

Application, followed by an interview either by phone or home visit.

BEFORE YOU APPLY:
All known information about an individual dog is provided in it's listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters must understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be.

Homes considering adopting a puppy must be prepared for:
1.) Flexible schedules for potty training. Puppies can only "hold it" for one hour per month of age (ex. a 4 month old puppy can only go 4 hours without a potty break).
2.) Crate training until the puppy is at least one year old, to prevent chewing on inappropriate things when you can't supervise.
3.) Socialization: The more positive and varying experiences as a puppy the better, both in and out of your home.
4.) Puppy behavior and life stages are equivalent to a human toddler. It takes at least a full year to have a calmer, well adjusted dog. Patience is required and when your dog's behavior is a positive experience for you and those around you, your patience will be rewarded tenfold, for years to come.
Please do not consider adopting a puppy if you have not thoroughly thought through the pros and cons of having one. So many people end up returning them after 3-5 months because they didn't realize the amount of work involved in raising a puppy.
Patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training are all musts. All are time consuming, and can be expensive.

All Dogs Require:Supervision with children and obedience training.
Adopters that want to have good dogs must be prepared to put the time and effort into training a dog. Any dog requires work and effort, but a well trained, well socialized dog is more than worth the effort put in to get them there.

Most of the puppies and dogs are vetted, fostered and lovingly cared for in the home state in which they were rescued.
