Hello, I`m Acai. This place is new and a bit scary. The noise, the people, the other cats...it`s all so overwhelming. I`m just a kitten, you see. I prefer quiet corners where I can observe everything from a safe distance. I might seem shy, but that`s only because I`m still learning about this world. Give me a little time and patience, and I`ll show you how sweet and loving I can be. I`m not asking for much. Just a warm lap to curl up on, gentle strokes on my fur, and a loving home where I can grow and thrive. I promise, I`ll be your loyal companion, your quiet confidante, your purring source of comfort. More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
