My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pringles is a playful and curious 1-year-old female dog. She loves exploring new places and meeting new friends. With her high levels of energy and affectionate nature, Pringles brings joy and excitement to everyone around her. Whether she's chasing after a ball or cuddling up for some snuggles, Pringles is always ready to make your day brighter! Pringles is also spayed and up to date on her core vaccines and monthly preventions as well as microchipped. ❤️ You can come down to meet this sweet girl or you can give us a call at 740-314-5583 for more information.

More about this shelter

We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
