My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skytrain got her majestic name due to her love of tunnels.

She is a very gentle ,sweet cat, doesn't bite or scratch (perhaps only during vigorous play time). Friendly, social but not cuddly and hates to be restrained or held for any length of time. She is very independent, busy exploring her environment and as the potential to pick up/ eat things which may be problematic.

Bengals are active cats which need enrichment in the home to support their adventurous , curious nature. She has a beautiful coat that comes with energizer bunny energy and needs. She enjoys gazing outside at birds etc and would enjoy outdoor assess but not to be left unattended. Harness training could be an option.
We believe she would be suited to a family who are not first time pet owners and someone who understands her needs etc. She will be a wonderful addition to an active home. Please note that Skytrain will not do well with other cats or dogs and should be the only animal in the house.

Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. You can also submit an application online if I am in foster or you would like to save some time when you come visit. While we do welcome online applications, in person meets have top priority.

More about this shelter

Our Mission:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 53,000 homeless, abused, and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
