My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

URGENT courtesy post Dodger is a silly, loveable 9-month-old mix filled with energy! At first, he is a little shy with new people, but give him a few treats and cheese, and you'll win him over! He weighs around 40 pounds, is neutered, and is up to date on shots. He knows some basic commands like sit, stay, and wait. He is house and crate-trained. He loves going outside for walks and spending time on the deck in the sun! He walks very well on the leash, especially for a puppy, and loves to watch the squirrels and deer walk by but has never attempted to chase them! When he sees other dogs, his tail wags, and he occasionally tries to get closer but is easily redirected. Dodger is still a puppy, so he is full of energy throughout the day and does best when he gets regular walks (a fenced yard to run around in would be a huge bonus!), has plenty of chews and toys available to play with, and is given mental stimulation (Kongs, puzzles, etc.). As a typical young puppy, he can get jumpy/mouthy during playtime and needs patient redirection or training as he continues to learn how to play with his humans. He’s looking for a home to work with him on this and give him the time, patience, and consistency to make progress. Currently, he is in a home with two small children and does well overall. He has not shown any signs of aggression, only wanting to play; he just isn't aware of his size yet! He would make a great addition to your home! More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
