My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tommy
I am a calm, easygoing fellow who wants to nap, look out the windows, and snuggle beside you on the couch. The cold weather makes me long for blankets and back rubs! I moved to the HSHC due to my owner`s health. I am 10-years-old, so that makes me a senior. I have lived with my family all my life, and they ensured I was never hungry! I weigh 18 pounds now but would love to lose a little in my waistline. I contracted an upper respiratory infection as well as an eye infection in my right eye. I`ve been given medicine to help with my eyesight as well as my lungs. The Black Friday sale began today, and I tried my best to stay awake and alert. But my bed was so cozy that I stretched out, tucked my front paws in, and went to sleep. The interviewer lady (IL) opened my door and waited until I opened my eyes. I rubbed my face against her hand so that she would pet me. My plan worked! She stroked my cheeks, ears, chin, and shoulders for a long time! I made some biscuits to show my approval. I would fit nicely into just about any home with someone who loves cats and understands our little quirks. I hope I get adopted today, but if not today, then tomorrow! 11-29-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
