My name is Gizmo!

I bought this dog for my elderly parents after we lost a 20 year old long hairred chihuhua. I purchased him as a rescue from a couple in Pueblo, Colorado in 2021 as a puppy. He is a SCHNOXIE (hald daushaund and hald mini schnauzer). I flew him to Alabama and this is where he has lived since he was a puppy, with my parents.
My parents are now having some major medical issues which does not allow for them to keep taking care of him. I flew back to get him almost 3 weeks ago from Alabama and bring him to my home here in Montrose, Colorado. I am attached to him but I have an 8 year old Catahoula mix that is food agressive and I am afraid of an the little guy getting hurt etc. We have them on separate sides of the house now and take turns to go outside and pee/walk etc. This is not a long term solution for us.
He is very protective of me and my parents and takes a while to get used to any strangers without me next to his side. He does however do really well at the pet groomers/ve
