Rhubarb Pie is an adorable adult male (perhaps 4-5 year old) Lemon Beagle who was brought to the HSOV on November 13, 2024. Rhubarb was found on State Route 83 in the Beverly Ohio area by a Good Samaritan who had kept him safe for the past month or so while trying in vain to locate his family. Rhubarb Pie was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
This handsome boy has a white short smooth coat with patches of tan throughout his coat, a long tail, and a beautiful Beagle face. Rhubarb has two distinctive tan spots on the top of his head, a slender muzzle, and large floppy ears which frame his face.
Rhubarb Pie is being listed as a 'Special Needs Dog' since he is blind in both eyes and is living in a world without sight. His hearing seems to be astute, and he looked toward the sounds of various noises during his photo session (voices, cars driving into the gravel parking lot, car doors being opened/closed, etc .. and, of course, the barking of nearby dogs). Rhubarb was quickly a 'team player' and happily joined the other dogs when they were barking.
Thanks to HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn for accompanying Rhubarb for his outdoor photo session late in the afternoon on November 13th. Rhubarb was full of energy and ran several laps around Tracy but abruptly stopped when he heard noises and focused his attention in the direction of the sound.
Rhubarb Pie weighs 24 lbs and could easily gain a few pounds to fill out his slim trim physique.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Rhubarb Pie will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
