Here's what the humans have to say about me:
JJ's world was turned upside down when his previous owner had to surrender him due to housing restrictions, but this resilient little guy is ready to start a new chapter. At just 11–12 months old and weighing 8 pounds, JJ is a young, spirited cat who has already begun settling into his Arlington, VA foster home.
JJ is a playful and talkative kitty with a big personality. He loves following his foster mom around the house, lounging next to her, and getting head scratches. He’s even started sharing her bed at night.
He adores interactive play—he’ll bring his favorite spring toys upstairs for you to toss—and keeps himself entertained watching the world through the window. This charming boy has a soft, shiny coat and loves attention, though he prefers to keep his paws on the ground (he’s not a fan of being picked up). While he’s independent in his own way, JJ thrives on companionship and will let you know when he wants to be petted or talked to.
A few things to keep in mind: JJ can get overstimulated during play so he’s not a match for homes with young children. He’s still shy around strangers and will hide initially but will pop out to investigate once he feels comfortable. JJ hasn’t been tested with other cats or dogs, but a trial adoption could help determine compatibility.
Due to JJ's car sickness during his ride to the foster home, he’s hoping for a forever family nearby. His foster mom is heading out of town for Christmas, and JJ would love to spend the holiday with his new family instead of being alone. JJ is microchipped and ready to meet his perfect match! Could you be the one to give this sweet, playful boy the loving home he deserves? Posted: 11/15/24 |

We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees, which range from $165-$185, include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter, etc); home visits may be required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home. Sorry, but we do not adopt very young kittens to families with children under 6 yrs old due to safety concerns for both child and kitten. Adopters also receive a certificate for a free comprehensive wellness exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital.

All of our cats are cared for in cage-free private foster homes; therefore, we request an application be completed before setting up appointments to meet them. Request an application by emailing us through our website. Adopters must live within a reasonable driving distance to No. VA ( maximum 60 minutes); we do not ship/transport our animals.

More about this rescue
We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.
