Poe is a 9 month old Maltese x Norfolk Terrier mix looking across the galaxies for his forever home! Poe was rescued from the shelter where he was surrendered due to a family disagreement on getting a new puppy. Unfortunately, when Mom says no, Dad takes the puppy to the pound. We agreed to take this handsome boy into our care and loaded him into our spaceship for a journey to the stars! Poe is an adorable little pipsqueak who will make your world complete. With his gorgeous coat and his cute smirk, he brings laughter and antics to every room he enters. Come on down and meet positively perfect Poe before he heads off for another galaxy far far away!

Poe is an adorably sweet, playful, and energetic puppy looking to show you the stars! He made himself right at home with his foster people, immediately showing off his love of toys and snuggles. He loves to trot after his people, keeping you in his sights as he lounges or chews on his squeaky toys. Poe knows just how adorable he is and he uses it to his advantage when he is ready for his next treat or play session. With one flutter of his long eyelashes and a tilt of his head, he will have you melting like putty into his paws. Poe is the perfect blend of playful and laid back. When the younger human wants to play fetch, he’s ready with a wagging tail, but when his foster mom wants to sit quietly, he’s ready to curl up next to her for a long nap. He loves to greet his foster human’s friends when they come over after a day of school, and he’s always happy to meet new people who want to coo all over him as they pet his soft hair. Poe would be a fabulous companion for a trip to the coffee shop, holiday shopping, or just a romp around the neighborhood. He is up for anything as long as he can do it by your side!

Poe wakes up at 7 AM with a short walk after a big stretch in his crate. He goes into the yard for some sniffs upon returning home before he comes inside for breakfast and playtime. During the workday, Poe hangs out in his crate or pen as he naps and plays with his toys. When his foster mom works from home, he lounges around the house or zooms around the yard. In the afternoon, he gets another walk followed by more cuddles. Once everyone comes home, he eats his dinner followed by a little treat. He shows off his playfulness to his people as they unwind from the day, zooming around the house with his toys. Once he tires himself out, he flops down on the closest lap for some snuggles and scratches. He goes out for one last potty and then heads into his crate around 10 PM.

Poe gets along fabulously with dogs of all ages and sizes. He would fit in well to a home with a resident dog but could also be a solo pup! He adores his 10 year old human foster brother. He walks well on a leash but would benefit from additional training and socialization. Poe is house trained and crate trained. Poe is so ready to start his next galactic adventure, so strap in and get ready for adventure!

Poe is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 6.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
