Meet Coal—an adorable tabby with a unique marbled coat and a personality as special as his name. Born into the 'Fire Boys' litter, Coal may have started out as the runt, but he’s grown into a confident, happy boy with a flair for the dramatic. Don’t be fooled by his soulful eyes; he’s a cheerful, playful kitten who loves nothing more than cuddling with his BFF Leo (who he’d love to go home with!).
Coal is the most easygoing of his litter (although still full of playful kitten energy), and he melts like butter when you pick him up for some cheek rubs and cuddles. His purrs are a soothing soundtrack to any day, and he’s got a big soft spot for the senior dog in his foster home.
With his laid-back nature and love for lap time, Coal would be an amazing companion for anyone seeking a snuggly, affectionate friend. This sweet little guy would love a buddy to play and nap with, and he’s hoping Leo can join him in his forever home. Adopt Coal and get ready for a lifetime of purrs, cuddles, and charm!
Coal is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
