My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Jack is in the process of getting adopted! **

Age: 8 years
Weight: 8.1 kg / 17.9 lb

Jack is sweet older boy who recently found his way to Calgary Humane through no fault of his own. Jack is overweight and will need help with some slow weight loss, as well as keeping his coat looking nice. After a rough time in shelter where he developed an upper respiratory infection, Jack is feeling better and ready to find a home that spoils him as much as he deserves! Our animal health tells us he has a big purr that he loves to use, so why not come meet this lovely guy today?

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
