This handsome fellow is Sammy, and he is really, really hoping to celebrate all the upcoming festivities with his own furever family! Young Sammy is a Pyrenees and Golden mix, and he has the best qualities of both breeds. We think he is pyrfect in terms of size, just the right amount of dog for everyday playing and cuddling, but not so big that he will take over your whole couch. Now, don't get me wrong, Sammy is definitely partial to a comfy sofa, but who wouldn't want a fluffy love bug to cuddle with when you watch your favorite show or enjoy an easy night with a good book? Just like any young boy his age, Sammy loves to play outdoors or go on sniffy walks to get updates on the neighborhood business. Even though Sammy may look like a goofy boy, he is quite a smarty pants! He picks up cues relatively easily, and we can only imagine how much fun it would be to teach him all sorts of party tricks. He is already crate trained, walks well on leash, and knows how to “sit,” “stay,” and give you his paw! Sammy is medium energy, doesn’t dig, and only barks when the doorbell rings. He enjoys being both indoors and outside, and is adaptable to different situations, so we feel like he’ll fit in just about anywhere. He enjoys car rides, walks, and toys, and would love a 4’ fenced-in yard to chase after balls! With this sweet, loving boy around, there will be no shortage of laughter in your household. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
