My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Joan of Arc was brought in by a community member on November 4, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Joan of Arc! This beautiful girl is a shy soul who needs a patient person to help her gain trust and be her best self. She is very enthusiastic about her food and treats, but she is still learning her leash manners and might be a little hesitant on the leash at first. Joan of Arc just needs time, consistency and patience to feel happy and content in her comfort zone. We'll go over some of her medical issues with you when you come in to meet her. If you would like to meet Joan of Arc, please come in today.

At SDHS:
Joan of Arc has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
