My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Zhora. I'm a resident of this wonderful shelter. I've been told I'm quite the intellectual. I have an insatiable curiosity that keeps me entertained. I love puzzles and games that challenge my mind. I'm always the first to figure out how to get the treats out of those tricky toys. I also enjoy observing my surroundings and trying to understand how things work. Life never gets boring with me around. If you're looking for a feline companion who can keep up with your wit, then I'm your cat. I promise to keep your days filled with intrigue and fun. Adopt me, and let's explore the world together.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
