My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olivia - Female DOB 4/13/2017 Domestic Long Hair Brown Tabby -

Meet Olivia, a sweet and serene seven-year-old kitty. Olivia's past has been challenging; she was abandoned at a horse farm, spending her days in a barn with horses and feral cats. Despite the kindness of the farm owners, who ensured she was spayed and vaccinated, Olivia's life was full of fear and uncertainty. Now, Olivia is safe and beginning to discover the joys of a secure, loving place to rest herself.  Olivia knows when it’s her feeding time and if you haven’t already set her wet food on the floor by that time, she will tell you in no certain terms that you’re late!

This gentle soul is not a fan of other cats or being picked up currently, but she absolutely adores being petted and will melt into your touch. She loves to sit on your lap when sitting on the floor or in low places that she doesn't have to jump up too high.  Olivia thrives in calm, quiet environments and would flourish best in a home without other pets or children. She longs for a patient, understanding owner who spends plenty of time at home to help her feel secure and cherished. If you're looking for a loyal, loving friend, Olivia is ready to trust and share her sweet spirit with you.

Olivia has been diagnosed with a form of arthritis in her rear ankles which is similar to people rheumatoid arthritis.  This prevents her from jumping up on things, but with help of pet stairs or a means to get up on beds or couches, she’s right there beside you.  She does get along fine on floors, and she will play as long as she doesn’t have to run or jump after toys.  She’s described as a non-agility kitty as far as there’s no worry of her jumping up on tables or counters!  She loves to watch kitty videos or perch herself in front of a window watching the critters and birds outside.  Olivia will be on a lifetime medication to help with any arthritis pain, but that is really a small price to pay with all the love you will receive from her in return.
