Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Manchas means spots, but also light of spirit, light-hearted. That epitomizes this 1 year old pug who has endured and overcome so much in his brief life without losing his loving, gentle nature. His original owner surrendered him to a local vet to be euthanized because he couldn't afford the much-needed surgery to remove Manchas' damaged and infected left eye. The vet accepted the dog & contacted GDR who gladly welcomed him.
Manchas has healed from his surgery & his heart & spirit have healed as well. He is tiny-only 13 pounds, likes toys, other small dogs, cats, and most especially, cuddling with humans.
He places his paws on anyone seated & gazes up at them, asking for "uppies." He gladly settles in against your chest, a paw on each side of your neck, making soft grunts of pleasure until he falls asleep. He does startle at loud noises, hinting at traumas in his past, so an ultra noisy household isn't his vibe.
Are you the right person or family to continue his second life where he will know only love, security, and joy?
Attributes:
Crate trained
90% housebroken (suspect he used to be an outdoor dog)
A true cuddle bug
Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX)
Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Additional adoption info
Adoption application required.
Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted.
So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.
Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.
We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.
We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
