My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Gaspar, I am around 1 year old, and I like to party. More on this later, but for now, here are some equally great things about me:
· Crate trained (100%) and sleep through the night
· House trained (99%)
· Already know “sit” and "wait"
· Walk pretty, pretty good on a leash for my age/experience level, if I do say so myself. The humans use something called a “transitional leash” to help me not pull too hard.
· Not a mean bone in my body. The other week, during my “Cat Test,™” I was booped in the face, and do you know what I did? Turned the other cheek.
· Only cry in cases of serious FOMO
· Nose freckles make up a 100% accurate map of the globe if you look long enough
· Love to cuddle in traditional and non-traditional positions
· Like to watch pro wrestling; my favorite is the “Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich. He is me.
.Generally bring a joy not easily replicated to all beings.

Now, back to the partying…I’ve heard the humans describe me as being a “high energy dog.” I don’t fully understand what they mean by this, because their ways are quite odd, but I can do my best to interpret. Here are my confessions: I love to weave in-between the moving legs of people and other dogs. The fastest way from point A to point B is a straight line, so I tend to just run straight through things. I love action, and will need you to help teach me what types of action I can participate in. Small children and non-dog friendly cats probably won’t enjoy my kind of party.

I know I can improve on these things, with time, if they are not your style or you have more preferred methods of party. That’s why I need the right human(s). A strong “dog person” who will give me a real chance. I’m worth it—and I’m so ready to be your friend. Fill out an application at pottersangelsrescue.org/adopt.

*Puppies adopted out that are under 12 weeks of age will not have been vaccinated against Rabies. The adopter will need to be responsible for getting them vaccinated.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a “free” animal. ALL animals need some kind of medical attention at some point in their lives. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, Bordatella vaccine, precautionary deworming, microchip with registration, flea treatment (if necessary), heartworm test (if necessary), and a heartworm preventative. Cats receive spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, FeLV/FIV test, precautionary deworming, flea treatment (if necessary). Depending on which vet is used, our animals’ medical needs can cost upwards of $500, just for the procedures listed above. Other animals may require dental care, prescription medications or diets, or long-term intensive nursing.

Here at Potters Angels Rescue, we strive to adopt our animals out to the best matches possible for them. This means that an animal other than the one who initially catches your eye may be a better fit for your home and lifestyle.

Our policy is to adopt to people that are 21 years of age or older. This is not a first come/first served procedure as we take great care in matching our dogs to prospective homes. Please be aware that a representative will contact you as soon as possible when you either make an inquiry or complete an application, however ‘as soon as possible’ does not mean immediately nor an exact amount of time as we are volunteers. It means just that- as soon as we possibly can.

After the references have been checked on your application, you can expect a call from one of our representatives as soon as we can. This is in order to address any concerns regarding your application and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have thought of since completing the application. After this a home visit will be scheduled with a representative and the adopter. It is required that and everyone in the household be present including the 4 legged members. If possible this will also be when the potential adopter meets the dog; although occasionally due to distance that will require a second meeting.

If you have found a specific animal you are interested in, please list the animal on the application. If you have questions about a specific animal, please send us an e-mail at info@pottersangelsrescue.org. We will then have the animal’s foster parent get in contact with you.

We are emotionally tied to the animals we rescue and remain committed to the animals and their adoptive families for their life. If there is a problem in keeping the adopted animal at any time during their life, we require that the animal come back to us for re-homing. Additionally, if there are problems or concerns with the health or well being of an animal, we are there to help the adoptive family with the support they require.

Go meet their pets

Our foster pets reside in loving foster homes before they are adopted. On occasion we have special events in which you can meet some of them.

More about this rescue

Potters Angels Rescue (PAR) is an animal rescue group based out of the New England area that is dedicated to placing unwanted or neglected animals in loving and everlasting homes. With the economy the way it is, we are getting more and more requests for finding homes for animals that are being left behind by their owners due to moving, increased work hours, lack of time for the dog or the inability to afford the dog and it’s vet care. We also assist local animal control officers in placing our local stray population, as well as responding to neglect and cruelty complaints.

Here at PAR, we do require that all animals are spayed/neutered and made current on all their vaccinations before being placed for adoption, which is why we request an adoption fee.
Our main goal is to make sure the animals that we come across make it in to homes where they are well loved and taken care of throughout the rest of their lives. It is a very sad thing to witness the emotions that an animal goes through when they are removed from their family and we would hate to think of them going somewhere that was anything less than a loving home.
