Hi, I'm Rocky!
Im 2.5 year old male and I am a pretty cool dude.
I am currently in foster with 4 other dogs, 3 of them Dobermans. I love to play and romp with my foster sister Callie. However, If its just me, or the older Dobermans do not want to play, I am pretty content to get some rubs and sniff and explore. I am a big boy so would be best matched with another larger dog similar to my size.
I walk nicely on leash just with a martingale, but when I do want to get to something faster than my human, I do pull. I am learning to walk on the head harness however which is coming along nicely I must say.
I love a good squeaky toy which I will keep entact for optimal play time, stuffed toys however have met their match!
Crate Trained since coming into care. I am currently learning to like jumping into the car without too much stress, and bathtime thru positive association.
My foster mom does not think I was asked or taught much in my previous life as I'm a bit clueness to start when she asks something of me. I love to learn new commands though and am very proud of myself when I catch on. It brings her a lot of joy when the 'light bulb' moments happen during my training.
I am currently on a diet and exercise plan as I came into care a bit on the heavier side. I LOOVE treats and food so my foster mom is encorporating my meals into training times. I am currently on a low protien calorie diet of Salmon.
I live next to a farm with all types of livestock. Walking past them, can be nerve racking. Even barking guard dogs at the fence, you will find me trying to hide behind my foster mom.
I was just tested for allergies and I am allergic to Beef primarly, Lamb and Kangaroo. I am currently taking daily medication for my allergies called Apoquel, as I have had skin issues and ear infections previously.
Rocky is currently on Vancouver Island, but can travel to Vancouver and surrounding areas.
Rocky will come neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All adopters must agree not to use any punitive training methods including, but not limited to, leash corrections, pinning, alpha rolls, etc.
