My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTERS NEEDED!!!! Five beautiful 6-7 month old puppies were taken to a dirt road in a county without animal control and thrown out of a van. A family is trying to help them and reached out to us and the local rescue community. Thankfully four of the five puppies have been caught. Attempts to catch the last one are ongoing. One puppy found her forever home and three are in a temporary foster home. All of the puppies are female. The temp foster can't keep them much longer. He says the puppies are very sweet and playful. We desperately need fosters to save these gorgeous puppies. Apply on our website.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

More about this rescue

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
