Monci is a 2-year-old, 11-pound Maltese-Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a mind quick to learn! He struggled in the shelter environment, but since moving in with his foster mom in Westchester, he’s blossomed into an affectionate, eager-to-please companion.
In just two days, Monci mastered “sit” and is sure to pick up other obedience commands quickly—he’s a fast learner! His foster mom has him on a consistent potty-training routine that’s already yielded great progress, with only a few accidents. Since he’s not yet neutered, Monci has a bit of a marking habit, but he’s been wearing a belly band indoors until his surgery date.
Monci is a joy to walk, staying right at his foster mom’s heel. She’s been encouraging him to explore more on his walks, and he’s starting to enjoy sniffing around and discovering new things. At night, he settles easily in his crate, sleeping through without a peep. Monci’s foster mom is also helping him work through some mild separation anxiety with short daytime crate sessions, and his forever family will need to continue this training to help him feel more at ease when alone.
With Monci, you get the ultimate cuddle companion—he absolutely loves belly rubs and will happily lie in your arms, paws up, soaking in all the affection. During the day, while his foster mom works, he’ll find a sunny spot for a cozy nap, but once the workday ends, he lights up with excitement for his daily park adventure! Monci adores greeting his new friends—both the furry and feathered kind—and is always thrilled to meet new doggy pals and humans alike.
Whether he joins a household with another dog or enjoys being the center of attention, Monci is adaptable and will thrive in any loving home. He’s a perfect balance of playfulness and calm, and he can’t wait to share his sweet, loyal spirit with his forever family.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative and microchipped. Needs neuter. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
