Sweet little Hope has a personality that is just as big as her ears! She is velvet soft, SO loving, super sassy, very inquisitive, and is still getting used to her lanky legs. She’s learning what it means to be a dog – learning how to play and that it’s also okay to just relax and that it’s okay to explore. Because she is so curious and smart, she is eager to learn and she does so very quickly. She already knows sit, down, and touch. She is also crate trained and almost fully potty trained - she hasn't quite figured out how to indicate when she needs to go outside and her only accidents when we stray from our schedule. She really does just want to please you and she does a happy little excited hop whenever she sees you. She is getting comfortable enough to seek out what kind of puppy trouble she can get into just to get your attention.
When her foster siblings need a break from her puppy antics, she is perfectly content entertaining herself with a couple of toys or laying in the warm sun. And while she can be independent for this little while, she very much craves companionship and connection and closeness. She loves to nestle herself into the smallest empty corner of the dog bed where her foster siblings are laying. When that plan doesn’t work, then she’ll come to you and cuddle herself into the crook of your neck to sleep. If it isn’t time to rest, she will be on the heels of whoever will let her be there (humans or canine).
Hope has a very adventurous spirit and she is very curious and brave and outgoing in a space where she is comfortable, but she still thinks that the big, unknown world is a scary place. She has not yet found the courage to go for walks, but we are working on sitting on the front porch to just exist in an unfamiliar place.
She will need someone that will be patient and understanding and help her to build her confidence. She will be happiest in a home with another dog sibling and a human that will be around more often than not. And cuddles will be non-negotiable.
Hope is being fostered in Western Centennial and will be available for adoption starting Saturday 11/16. Fill out a no obligation application to meet her today!
