My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hubert

3 YO English Bulldog

45 Pounds

Kid & Dog Friendly

Crate & Leash Trained

Fostered in Yacolt, WA

Hi, I’m Hubert. My foster family calls me sweet Baby Huey. You may be surprised to know, but I’m not a Boxer, I’m an English Bulldog. I have beautiful brindle and white coloring and am the most easy going mellow guy you could meet, compliments of the temperament chef. I am very calm, curious, and loving. This goes hand in hand with my passive personality. I am in a foster home with four other dogs that are older than me, they don’t enjoy playing like I do, so sometimes they are grouchy with me. I don’t let it get to me though, I keep trying to win them over, but don’t push it too much. I would really enjoy a buddy or two in my new home, buddies that would like to play with me. Because I am so easy going, laid back, and like to play a lot, you will often find me napping and recharging, I sleep pretty hard so I startle a bit when you wake me up. I know I will get used to all the new noises in my new home over time, but I don’t care for the vacuum and lawn mower, they startle me a bit too. I love to go on walks, sniffing all the good smells and discovering new sites, I am great on leash and do best in a harness. I am able to roam freely in my foster home, I have the best manners and don’t chew anything up and am not destructive, I really just love my toys.

I like to go on car rides and be with my people, and my most favorite thing is cuddling up next to you on the couch. My foster family lets my up on the furniture and I am always on my best behavior, but I do love my big comfortable bed and crate, so if that is where you want me to sleep, I will do it. I enjoy simple things in life, walks, toys, car rides, treats, and I crave attention. I will follow you anywhere or do anything you ask if a treat is involved. I am looking for an active family that will love me, cuddle with me, and play with me. That’s it, that’s all I want in life. If you think that we could be a good fit, I would love to meet you. More about this rescue

Northwest Boxer Rescue (NWBR) believes that every boxer deserves a chance to live a happy life in a loving home. Abandoned or homeless Boxers will always find shelter, medical care, and ultimately a new home through the efforts of NWBR. By working with committed volunteers and local veterinarians we are able to rescue boxers every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them perfect loving forever homes. Working in conjunction with city and county groups, NWBR strives to educate the public and help end animal overpopulation and needless suffering. The commitment to share the love of Boxers is never ending.

We never discriminate on the basis of health or age. Our animals are evaluated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any necessary medical treatment before they are placed in carefully screened homes.
