My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Jackson, and I'm a handsome black and white Lab mix. At 3-4 years old, I weigh a solid 50 pounds and have been neutered. I'm up-to-date on all my vaccinations and have tested negative for any health issues. I'm house, crate, and leash trained.

I'm great with kids and have been raised around them, so I definitely need to be in a home with children. Unfortunately, I'm not good with other dogs so far, but I'm a sweet kid who just needs the right environment. I love to play ball and carry around my stuffies. Snuggling and giving kisses are some of my favorite things to do. Walks are my absolute favorite because I'm a curious George and love to explore!

Currently, I'm being fostered in Hampton, VA but I can be transported to other states for the right home. If you're looking for a playful and loving companion who adores kids, I'm your guy! Fill out an application and let's make some wonderful memories together.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
