Zeke with his cheeky smile and sharp wits make a special combination that’ll leave a great impression on the right person! This little dude always seems to have a pep in his step, ready for the next thing of the day. Despite his little dog flare, Zeke would be able to keep up with the adventurous types out there. But he’ll be able to be the quirky family dog too, always ready to play when the family visits and snuggle when it’s time to wind down. He doesn’t play with toys much and always seems curious to discover the world around him. Zeke can get along with other dogs to boot, from the coach potatoes to zoomie lovers. Whether you're looking for a solo companion or a new friend for the pup at home, Zeke's ready to bring his unique brand of inquisitive joy to your home!

Zeke is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

We process your application in the order received. We'll contact you through call or email.

3.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Visit the facility via scheduled appt. and meet the the dog. If all seems like a good fit, the dog can go home on this day!

*You must put in an application!* This is important step. Fill one out at hlcr.org! Of course, you can ask us questions at any time via email or text.

The application will come back up again during the final meet n greet, since check out and microchips rely on the same system where the applications are put in.

More about this rescue

Highland Lakes Canine Rescue was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by a group of folks who wanted to rescue homeless dogs from the Central Texas region and care for their health, rehabilitation and then to ultimately find these dogs a forever home uniting them with a newly adopted family. Initially HLCR started out as a foster only organization but over the 17 years has grown into it's own location with a kennel facility, outdoor pens, walking trails and staff and resident caretaker. An active and passionate group of staff and volunteers works tirelessly supporting HLCR and its mission.
