Meet the devoted Flip. He is an eight-year-old, 14-pound ChinPin (Chihuahua, Pincher mix), with radar ears with a stocky low-rise build. Flip was found on the streets as a puppy and given a loving home by my parents. My father passed away in 2021, so my mother cared for Flip and a Golden Retriever in her home by herself for over 3 years until she was forced into a memory care facility and had to relinquish Flip to us. We love Flip, but we can’t keep up with his youthful energy!
Flip is an active happy pup who wants to make you happy. He imprints upon a person and does everything he can to please them. He loves other dogs and always wants to play, but our other dogs are not young enough companions to keep up with him. Also, he is not really a cat person/puppy in that he can get a little overly playful with them (it has frightened our kitties).
He sometimes has “little dog†syndrome where he tries to be the “top dogâ€Â. Maybe it’s just his Napolean complex or he wants to play so much!
He will sit with you (on the couch, if allowed) and binge-watch your favorite Netflix show as long as you want. But the moment you get up to get some popcorn, he is up following you to see if he can have some too!
Flip is a good conversationalist/psychologist. He can sit on your lap and listen to you talk with or to him all day!
The best home for Flip would be any situation where he gets lots of attention (and no kitties, haha). Maybe a single person looking for a loyal companion or a family that wants an active playful buddy!
Flip does walk on a leash very well, just at a brisk tempo. With his ears up and his little legs rapidly moving he patrols the neighborhood. He has a piercing bark that makes a good watchdog and is ever vigilant. He is also one smart pup and knows when you're happy or sad. He’s got a soft spot for any dog treats but can have a weight problem. So, not too much of a good thing!
