While he’s a cuddly companion, Morty prefers a quieter environment, as he was a bit stressed living with young kids in his previous home. He’ll happily show off his playful side, running after tossed toys and leaping in and out of boxes—though he might need a little help picking them up! Morty is a loyal friend who’ll make every moment spent with him feel special, whether he’s talking to birds outside or curling up beside you for a nap. Visit the shelter during regular business hours. If the pet is listed as "in foster", please contact the foster at the email provided.

2.
Submit Application

If you would like to adopt after meeting the animal, the foster or staff member will give you a link to an online application.

3.
Approve Application

One of our adoptions counselors will contact you to go over the pet’s medical history, personality information, and answer any questions.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Finalize adoption paperwork & pay adoption fee.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Schedule a time to pick up the pet at the shelter.

Founded in 1944, the Animal Welfare League of Arlington provides animal adoption and community programs to the Northern Virginia and D.C. metropolitan area, as well as animal rescue and control services within Arlington County.
