My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Gary was brought in by their previous owner on November 13th, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Gary, the easy-going and friendly rabbit who's sure to win your heart! This charming little guy does well with everyone he meets and has a sweet, chill personality. Gary loves attention and will hop over to ask for pets, happily soaking up affection. While he's not a fan of being picked up, he's perfectly content being loved on while he's on the ground. Gary is also litter box trained, making him an ideal roommate. Rabbits, being prey animals, can be easily scared or stressed, so it's important to bond with them slowly and create a calm, peaceful environment at home. Gary will need plenty of space to roam, along with fresh Timothy hay to munch on, fresh water to drink, and a variety of toys to keep him engaged, like chew blocks and tunnels. A proper rabbit setup-complete with a secure, spacious area for him to explore-will be required before adoption. If you're looking for a calm, loving bunny, Gary might be your perfect match!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Gary is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
