My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Luna was brought in by her previous owner on October 22, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Luna, a real head-turner with both beauty and brains! This gal is no ordinary dog-she's got smarts to spare. Luna already knows how to sit like a champ and takes treats with the kind of gentle grace you'd expect from a canine connoisseur. Although this smart pup has done well with other canines on walks, she would prefer being the only dog in the home as she prefers her own space. When it comes to chasing tennis balls, she's a true professional, and at night, she loves to settle into her crate, which she's turned into her own personal den. But don't expect Luna to be content lounging around all day. She's all about fun, adventure, and keeping her sharp mind occupied! Puzzle toys? Yes, please! Enrichment games? She's in! Luna thrives when she's mentally and physically stimulated, so if you're the kind of person who enjoys outdoor escapades and intellectual challenges, she's ready to be your adventure buddy. Looking for a smart, active companion who's as stylish as she is savvy? Luna's your gal. Just make sure to bring a chic leash and collar-this girl's ready to strut her stuff!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
