My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Macy!

Macy is a lively little lady with a zest for life and a lot of love to give! Macy may have a few years behind her, but she's still bursting with energy and always ready for an adventure. She absolutely adores her walks, making sure to sniff every inch of her path, and will happily roll over for belly rubs when it's playtime. Macy has a big personality and isn't afraid to use her voice-she'll let you know when she's in need of some attention or if there's food on her mind! Due to her separation anxiety, Macy would thrive in a home where she's not left alone for long stretches and with people who can appreciate her chatty nature.

Macy also has a charming habit of trying to join you at the dinner table, so her new family should be ready to help her learn some boundaries. She gets along well with other dogs and would do wonderfully in a home with a canine friend to keep her company. Macy's looking for a family that will embrace her quirks, understand her needs, and give her all the love she deserves.🍑💗

Do you think you could be Macy's person? Here are some ways to find out:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
