Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rally was brought in to Harbor Shelter (San Pedro) by an Animal Control Officer after, what he suspected, was a case of being hit or nicked by a car. He could not walk when he arrived, but the shelter learned that when on good pain meds, Rally was able to toddle around (see video). They reached out to us for a rescue exit, and we scooped Rally up on November 13th to become a Frosted Face. He is about about 14 years old and weighs 12 lbs.
Our on-site veterinarian examined Rally as soon as he arrived and did full body x-rays. We ordered a wheelchair for this little guy to help him get around and continue him on pain medications. And hopefully, he will continue to "rally!"
Rally is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling with a dedicated volunteer. She took him along on a trip to visit family in Seattle over Thanksgiving. We are so happy Rally is enjoying an adventure and receiving lots of TLC in the comfort of a home!
Rally's fling mom reports:
"Rally may be mobility-challenged, but what he lacks in walkies he makes up in sweetness, snuggles, and general perfection. He's actually getting around a little more as time goes by as well!
Rally had a big couple of days and was a champ on our outdoor time, but he definitely prefers San Diego weather and snuggling indoors to Seattle.
Here's some more info for his forever family:
* Rally is happy to sit and watch what you are doing or be on your lap.
* He is very affectionate.
* He's been fine left alone for a few hours at a time.
* Rally gets excited and barks with other dogs. He is so happy to meet them.
* I take him outside to pee every 5 hours, but he can hold it longer and through the night. We haven't needed the belly bands.
* He loves food and easily takes his meds.
* Rally gets around by toddling, using his wheels, and his favorite - riding in a sling!"
