My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Message for details:
This pet is available for adoption in a foster home. To adopt them, please call us at 619 299 7012 or email us at SDCadoptions@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number. We will arrange for you to meet Samuel.

How this pet arrived:
Samuel (Sam) was brought into care by a community member.

At SDHS:
Sam has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Sam might be the one for you:
Samuel is a high energy big man with a handsome grey face and body and a heart full of sweetness! He knows how to sit for treats, and his six favorite things in life are whipped cream, cream cheese, going on walks, meeting friends, cuddles, and toys. His foster family has potty trained Samuel and is teaching him basic commands for how to be a good dog. Samuel will benefit from a dog savvy adopter who knows how to use consistent positive training techniques to continue training Samuel. We can help you with that. Since he is so food motivated, he will do anything for treats , including learning good behaviors but it will take some time before he wins "best behaved dog" prize. . He will need time, a patient family and a good amount of inside and outside space for him to run and play. If you're looking for a happy guy who's very handsome and you want to be part of his transformation to "best behaved dog", Sam is your guy!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
