My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is a loving and gentle soul who has overcome a lot to get where she is today. This sweet Husky mix was found wandering as a stray, emaciated and in desperate need of care. But thanks to the dedication of the shelter and our amazing foster team, Frankie is now a healthy, happy pup who is ready to find her forever family!

Frankie is a little on the shy side, and it takes her time to warm up to new people. However, once she feels safe and comfortable, her loving nature shines through. She absolutely adores spending time with those she trusts and forms strong bonds with her human companions. Frankie may be nervous at first, but with patience, kindness, and understanding, she will blossom into a loyal and affectionate friend.

Frankie is still working on building her confidence, and she thrives in a calm and gentle environment. She'll do best in a home where she can feel secure and surrounded by a loving family who will take things at her pace.

While Frankie has come a long way, she does have some ongoing medical needs. She's just starting thyroid medication, and she will require this for the rest of her life. While this means ongoing medical expenses, Frankie's future is bright, and with the right care, she will continue to thrive and enjoy a long, happy life.

If you're looking for a sweet, loyal, and beautiful dog who needs a little extra love and patience, Frankie might be the perfect match for you. She's ready to find a family who will give her the love and security she deserves. Could you be the one to help her feel at home?

Adopt Frankie today and be a part of her amazing journey!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
