Meet Penelope, a stunning gray beauty with a heart as big as her smile! This sweet girl absolutely adores everyone she meets and enjoys making new doggie friends on her leash walks. While she’s great at socializing outdoors, Penelope would thrive as the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention. She’s not a fan of dog parks, and we don't recommend them anyway—they’re best avoided for your dog’s health and well-being.
Penelope’s journey has been one of resilience. She came into someone’s yard with a skin infection, swollen paws, and signs that she’d been a mama to several litters. But now, with healing care, her paws are strong, her skin is glowing, and she’s blossomed into the happiest, most affectionate girl.
Penelope is crate-trained and has excellent house manners—no accidents here! She’s also a dream in the car, sitting patiently and always ready for the next adventure. Her medium energy level makes her adaptable; she’ll enjoy exploring on walks, then happily settle in for some downtime with you. Check her out on a stroll: https://youtube.com/shorts/J9KfgAq0EFM?feature=share
And don’t miss her adorable blocky head with that quirky ear that has a personality of its own—she’s pure charm from head to paw! If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion for life’s adventures and cozy nights, Penelope might be your perfect match.

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
