My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sonny is fostered in Kent OH and his adoption fee/donation is 400

Hello,
My name is Sonny, and I am 9 months old. I came from a shelter in Canada where I was adopted out twice, and returned both times due to my poor manners. Poor manners? What is that? I was only 6 and 7 months old at the time, I need to be taught manners. I was failed by humans twice!!
I do have a lot of energy, and I am young and rambunctious, but I am sweet and loving too!! I just need time to adjust and learn the rules, and be taught how to be a good boy. I do have some resource/food guarding issues with other dogs, and I must be fed separately so I don’t guard my food from others.
I am not comfortable around young children, so I will need an ADULT ONLY home. I am good with other dogs, and can be placed in a home with others, or I could do well as an only dog too, I just need a person to love. I like playing with toys, and chewing on bones, but again, I can resource guard with these items, so I need to be worked with more on this issue. My foster mom says I am a good boy, but I need the right home, preferably with a fenced yard, and someone with cocker spaniel experience.
I am neutered and vaccinated, as well as heartworm negative

More about this rescue

Cherished Cockers Inc. is an Ohio based, all volunteer group of Cocker Spaniel lovers who help Cockers Spaniels receive the lives that they deserve.
We are funded by donations and fund raising events which goes directly to helping the Cocker Spaniels that have been rescued by Cherished Cockers Rescue.
We do not have a shelter; instead all of our Cocker Spaniels we rescue are living in foster homes.
Cherished Cockers and our volunteers are dedicated to rescuing, whenever possible abandoned, abused, displaced, injured, and surrendered Cocker Spaniels regardless of location, age or physical condition.
We then provide them with veterinary care and eventual placement in forever homes where they will be treated as family and receive the love that they deserve.
We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership and the need for spaying and neutering.
Cherished Cockers does not discriminate against anyone for reasons of age, race, religion, politics, gender or sexual orientation.
