Take the Pet Home

If it is a good fit for both applicant & pet, applicant will complete paperwork, pay fee & take pet home (as long as pet is spay/neutered).

Additional adoption info

There is an initial adoption application, followed by a meeting for approved applicants. If applying for a dog, we require other dogs who reside in the home to come to the shelter for a meet-n-greet as well. If all goes well, you sign a contract for adoption. All BCHS dogs and cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption and are up to date on age-appropriate core vaccinations.

More about this shelter

We are a small rural shelter that works very hard to find homes or rescues for our dogs. We have a 97% save rate at our shelter which we are very pleased about. Our staff and volunteers work very hard for our dogs. We are always looking for volunteers to help us clean kennels, walk dogs, and just spend some time with the dogs. Donations are very important for our shelter, as we operate on donations.
We have some of the best dogs in Ohio and would love for them to find a new furever home with you!
