My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zelda, a 1-year-old puppy with a calm temperament and a big heart for family life. She’s got a laid-back vibe for a young dog, but she still lights up for a game of fetch and loves outdoor adventures. While she’s good with other dogs, she’s more of a companion than a playmate and prefers a peaceful coexistence.

She’s been an absolute dream around our family, especially with kids. Her gentle nature shines as she runs alongside them on their 4-wheelers at the ranch. She’s crate-trained and settles right into her crate at night without a fuss.

She’s food-motivated, so training her is easy, and she’s a big fan of walks, car rides, and cuddle time. This loyal girl is a wonderful companion, especially with her trustworthy and gentle personality around the children.

She’d thrive best in a home without small livestock or poultry, where her love of family, play, and adventure can be fully appreciated. She really is a sweet girl, and with the right setup, she’ll be the most loving and loyal companion!
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 25, 2024, 9:54 pm

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
