My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gitli is three years old. We adopted him in the summer of 2023 from a shelter. He is very soft, playful, strong and is quite smart (he uses a button to indicate he needs food or water). He is on the anxious side and is very territorial of his property (our yard). On the good side: he doesn't run away from home and will stay on command if we walk down the road. On the tough side: he receives visitors as invaders and can be aggressive toward them, growling and barking. A home with a fenced-in back yard might be a better fit.

He seems to do well with our immediate family members, with the exception of our youngest kid (age 12). At times when he has been startled out of sleep, or when loud noises have occurred started growling at our kid, following him, and even nipped at him. Since he is a strong dog this makes us very nervous. He seems to be triggered by people extending their hands or dark objects. A patient, adult owner would be ideal for this beautiful pup.
