Despite her name, MISS MACKEREL is not a fish. MISS MACKEREL is a beautiful and playful solid gray kitten with striking gold eyes. She loves being the center of attention and always has a lot to say. She needs a few minutes to warm up to new situations, but once she’s comfortable, she’s a very happy and purry girl who loves people and will soon become your best friend. She enjoys all kinds of toys and is an enthusiastic hunter of toy mice. Ironically, she isn’t a fan of fish-flavored food, and she prefers her meals to have chicken in them! Miss Mackerel was brought into our cat rescue when her owner was no longer able to care for her. At this point we are unsure if she gets along with other cats, or if she will need to be an only cat. She’ll thrive in a loving forever home where she can get lots of attention and playtime from her human companions.

MISS MACKEREL has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. You can meet MISS MACKEREL at the cattery inside our partner PetSmart in North Eugene (2847 Chad Dr, across from Costco). All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 12:30-2:30pm, Sat.-Sun.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
