My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sergio! He is a 2-year-old Border Collie/ Husky mix. Sergio is a high-energy, enthusiastic dog who thrives on activity and mental stimulation. He's always ready to play! Fetch is probably one of his favorites that keeps him going. Although he may be very active, he also bonds quickly with people and loves affection as well. He would do well with an active family, an individual who loves to run or hike, or someone who can engage him in fun training activities. He may also enjoy having a dog companion to help burn off his energy as well.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
