My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 6 months
Weight: 27.9 kg / 61.5 lb

A bit about O`Connor
- kids okay; all interactions should be supervised
- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised intros recommended
- dogs okay pending successful intro
- has never lived indoors

O`Connor is a big gentle boy who came to Calgary Humane after his family could no longer care for him. O`Connor has always been an outdoor pup and isn`t sure what to make of our big building and its slippery floors! O`Connor has previously lived with dogs and children, but has had limited socialization outside his family, so he`d do best with patient doggy and human friends that can help him get his confidence up. Slowly, O`Connor is learning to trust, and gain some confidence with walking on leash and living indoors. But as a big fluffy husky, his ideal home would be a rural placement or a house with a secure backyard where he can spend lots of time outside. Come say hello to this sweet guy today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
